The temple of selfishness

Context

The world of future is a cosmopolitan community, where is no place for countries, politics, religions, history, culture. Population density reaches such a scale that it is impossible to feel yourself lonely. Notions like private property or individual housing simply does not exist: our House is the Earth. In the mad pace of life, each person takes a part of a small cog in a large mechanism. The unit of society is not a family, but individual. Architecture completes at this point of time its centuries-old transition from a material state to mental.

The temple of selfishness

The only existing obsolete typology of buildings is the temples of selfishness. They are evenly spaced across the surface of the Earth, being pendulums in the surrounding chaos. However, their main function is to allow an individual to be alone to psychologically rest from other people: each person is entitled to his annual period of alienation.

Being isolated from the environment is the main privilege of the man of the future.
